Hailee had a few small roles on TV before her Oscar-nominated turn in True Grit. The starlet, who turns 15 this month, surprised the fashion world when she made international headlines as the new face of Parisian fashion giant Miu Miu. Next year she’ll be playing Juliet in a remake of Shakespeare’s classic romance alongside Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick.

She’s been on television for years acting in True Jackson and doing voice-overs for The Cleveland Show, but the 18-year-old is gearing up for her foray into movies next year. Catch her in Joyful Noise and as the voice of Peaches in the animation Ice Age: Continental Drift.

Alex famously dated Glee star Dianna Agron before a messy split. Famous for his model looks (and his bad temper), you can catch the 21-year-old Beastly star on screen in In Time opposite Amanda Seyfried and Justin Timberlake. He’ll also be impressing audiences next year in Magic Mike, co-starring Channing Tatum.

Born in New York City to Irish parents, 17-year-old Saoirse (pronounced ‘Sersha’) rose to interna-tional stardom after her stellar performance in the Oscar-nominated movie Atonement. This has been a successful year for her: she proved herself with films such as Hanna (also starring Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett) and Violet & Daisy (with Alexis Bledel). Keep an eye out for her in 2012 in sci-fi flick The Host.
ROONEY MARA
Rooney’s had parts in A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Social Network and Youth in Revolt. Catch the 26-year-old talent alongside Daniel Craig in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo soon, and Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes in 2012.
JENNIFER LAWRENCE
After being nominated for an Oscar last year for her work in Winter’s Bone, this 21-year-old went on to portray Mystique in X-Men: First Class. Jennifer’s set to gain cult following when she takes on the role of Katniss in The Hunger Games next.
MIA WASIKOWSKA
This 22-year-old Aussie actress has already cemented herself in the fame game. In 2010 she featured in Oscar-nominated movies The Kids are All Right and Alice in Wonderland, where she held her own against veteran A-listers and impressed critics. This year, she played the title character in Jane Eyre and stole the show in Restless. Mia has a host of movies coming out in 2012, but make a point of catching her in Back Roads.
